Class 4 get Worms!

Posted by eastwoldblog on November 24, 2010

Today in Class 4 – we continued our conversation about composting and how micro-organisms help to break down or waste and over time (sometimes a long time!) will turn it into compost which we can use in our gardens.

Y5 had already made some ‘mini’ compost bins to observe over the next few months.

Mr Watson introduced some ‘Red Tiger Worms’. Very exciting. The children used magnifiers and hand lens’ to observe them in detail.

Some of the worms then were put into the Composters to see how they would influence to contents.

Can’t wait to see what happens…
